• Etched Steel: Through an etching process, both slag and mill scale are removed, resulting in a cleaner surface that rusts more quickly and evenly. This finish is ideal for painting, powder coating, or creating a consistent rust patina.

• Pre-Rusted Steel: This option undergoes a controlled rusting process using our custom Ironstone Steel rust finish. It arrives with a beautifully aged patina, making it perfect for gifts or projects where immediate visual appeal is desired without waiting for natural rust to develop. Because of the hand rusting prosses, each piece is unique and no two items are exactly alike.

Both the Raw Steel and the Etched Steel options are shipped without rust prevention and may experience additional rusting during transit. Choosing the right finish depends on your project goals and how much preparation or waiting time you’re willing to invest.
